Formosa Trio
Born in Taiwan, Yin Yin Huang made her concert debut at age 16 with the Chinese Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and soon thereafter with the Formosa Chamber Orchestra. She received and taught college-level music courses in Taiwan before immigrating to the United States. Today, she is an international concert pianist who has collaborated and performed with renowned artists in Italy, Asia, Europe, the United States and Central America, including the world-known baritone Dr. William Warfield. She is an acclaimed master piano instructor, whose music foundation has participated in many philanthropic and community endeavors in the Southern California area, winning praise from numerous major media publications, including the: Pasadena Weekly, Pasadena Star-News and the Chinese Daily World.
Current positions Artistic Director, Yin Yin Huang Music, Education Foundation Graduates have received scholarships to such prestigious universities as Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Peabody Conservatory of Music, Oberlin Conservatory, New England Conservatory and the Royal Academy School of Music (London). Other alumni have gained admission to Ivy League and similar colleges.

Peace Through Music Concert, Pasadena, California, September 2008 Served as lead performer and key artistic coordinator for this nationally-known concert dedicated to ending violence and improving human relations, prompting one critic to write “from the moment she set her fingers to the keys, there was instant electricity.” Costa Rica, August 2008 Performed solo piano recital.
Performed with the Harmonium Trio, on TV, Pasadena, Ca on three occasions, 2007-2008 and feature artist, MTNA, Music Teachers Associations, CAPMT Conference at San Francisco 2007.
Model of Unity Award, Pasadena, March 2008 Recipient of prestigious award from the Pasadena Human Relations Commission for charity concerts that raised $18,000 to benefit New Orleans musicians in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, and $50,000 for the victims of the 2004 tsunami and others such as: Taiwan earthquake relief funds, Salvation Army, Red Cross. She has also been a pillar in her community in improving Human Relations as well as directing her prized students to actively be involved and serve the community with honor. Guatemala City, Guatemala 2006 Her piano solo performance drew praise from renowned Central American opera star Luis Giron May, who wrote that her “extraordinary piano artistry will be remembered by our people in Guatemala for years to come.” International Summer Festival, Vienna, 2002 Performed and assisted at this international event. Taiwan International Music Summer Festival, since 1988 Appeared with Polytimbre Ensemble as chamber musician and served as master teacher. Pianist studies brought her in contact with Bernardo Segall (a pupil of Alexander Siloti, who studied under Franz Liszt), and also Paul Van Ness, Dr. Milton Stern and Robert Ward. Started musical training at age 10 with Lily Chou. Also of Note Has presented numerous workshops and master classes sponsored by the Music Teachers Association of California and has served as an adjudicator for the MTAC Scholarship Competition, Southern California Junior Bach Festival, Southwestern Youth Music Festival, the Inland Empire Competition, Contemporary Competition and the Young Artist Concerto Competition.
